This 8400 sf facility has two levels to accommodate up to 52 guests in group oriented rooms, a large central great room that provide tranquil views of the ocean through the sheltering forest that opens on to a large screen porch, a commercial kitchen, office space, and barrier free washrooms and shower facilities.

Andrews of Stratford

The main challenge of Andrews of Stratford was how to design a building with 52 rooms, on one level, and yet avoid a monotonous long institutional building with a single corridor.

The solution was to create smaller groupings of rooms that eventually turned into a plan with a central courtyard that promises to recall beautiful English gardens. The variety of room sizes that Andrews of Stratford would be offering, was an opportunity to further articulate each grouping of rooms with gables, sandstone, and board and baton siding.

The end result is a single building that appears instead as a smaller grouping of homes, a small island village. Every village has its streets, and the design of Andrews of Stratford incorporated similar features and atmosphere. Main street offers a beauty salon, a small corner store, a doctors office, and library.

The large restaurant style dining room offers cozy nooks, around a fireplace for special private family gatherings and celebration dinners. The neighbourhood wings of Andrews of Stratford are spacious corridors named after local streets Mason, Keppoch, Battery point and Kinlock Roads. With each street leading to a bright and airy sunrooms and large chapel each with special views and unique character.
